Randomplay has features like memorizing songs that are played, in order to not loose the track of songs when shutting down, specify a number of tracks or minutes to play. It also generates a list of tracks or music files that can be loaded on a portable music device.

I used Randomplay for a while, when I worked as a system administrator for a small company. It attracted me to use it because all you needed to do was write a small command line that would then start playing all the music in random order. The tool didn’t eat up memory or use the hard drive excessively, so I could focus on my work without problems. It works great, and I don’t think it needs anything more.
