These postings are probably from our former vendor. Oxcyon and Centralpoint delivered as promised and their service was better than anything we had ever experienced (with our former local interactive firm, or other vendor 'M-----k")...we prefer not to play the games on this site.

When we signed with Oxcyon we had approximately 105 tools, and today we have over 180, and have just installed their .NET platform.

Yes, it used to be rigid (within the construct of their tools), but now with .NET we can layout any module (and customize) anyway we want.

I can totally understand why you might have some difficulty. Getting these settings just right takes some doing. We had to contact Oxcyon to walk us through this process, and they proved to be very helpful.

We're at 3 sites now with Centralpoint. They helped us setup rss newsletters which eliminated a staff position that used to create it in html each week. Our sites are at 85% or better in website grader, and after reading some of the tips we realized we could get even better.

We highly recommend- beware of your developers

Centralpoint is a great application, and will be welcome in your office, providing you dont have developers who want to recode everything Centralpoint offers out of the box.

We were able to launch 11 sites, within 6 weeks (previously unheard of) and turn them over to non-developers. We trimmed our staff, and remaining developers were, well, less than thrilled with the new application.

Times are changing, and the days of developers trying to code (or worse recode) any solution, when it is available out of the box are gone.

If you have a dev team that has other things to do, this is the application for you. If it is ALL they do, beware...they will fight you tooth and nail. If that is the case, and unfortunately it was for us...you have to question 'Why?' It boiled down to ROI vs. their job security, and ROI won.

Great application....needs more documentation

Our organization has been using Centralpoint for nearly 5 years (since 2001). It is the best CMS/Portal platform we have ever seen, and have had others (Vignette and Sharepoint).

The documentation leaves little to be desired, but their production management team has been very supportive whenever we need anything. Ideally, I would like to have full documentation, to eliminate any dependency on them, but have not been charged extra for it under our license agreement. Highly recommend this application to anyone with more than 3 sites to manage, including a lot of content

Definitely not recommended, Oxcyon has given our company nothing but problems. In the initial meeting we were given a list of over a dozen websites that Oxcyon has hosted with their Central Point Software. Later it was a shock to learn that the few good ones in the list were (surprise) no longer hosted with Oxcyon.

They offer a lot with their modules, and central point software. They make it look easy and rewarding. And in truth it is easy to use their software, it is well organized, and the sites are easily maintainable. But there is very little wiggle room. Their cookie-cutter program doesn't offer much customization, and they are hardly willing to help in any way. Their customer service is lacking greatly.

Not to mention that when our sites switched to Oxcyon we lost more then 90% of our website traffic.

This is a bad idea for anyone looking for a webhost.

Oxcyon CMS is terrible

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Oxcyon's CentralPoint CMS is extremely clunky with zero documentation. Our company tried this product despite my recommendation to use opensource solution. Nonetheless, we use Joomla & Wordpress now, and it is much more reliable and best of all it is free. These guys come on strong and try to look slick, but they didn't fool me. My guess is that it is a 10 man con shop.

 Centralpoint CMS Portal gives Sharepoint users a viable alternative. This platform picks up where sharepoint leaves off, allowing you to create multiple web projects from a 'singular' database, instead of creating many databases which pose challenges to federate a search 'across' them. Basically, Centralpoint gives you one database, considate of Roles, Audience Types, and AD Integration to tie it all togehter, and relate information together...based on the role of the individual accessing it.

Centralpoint is a document management system, as much as it is a content management system, email broadcasting, forms management, roles management....portal.

This platform is the only one which considers multilevel classification (per record)...not even sharepoint can do this.

Any mediocre or negative reference around this product is a programmer who was either put out of work, or threatened to be put out of work by the application

Mr. Venuses statement is simply nonsense. I was Oxcyon's top sales resource in 2007.I parted ways with the company for mulitple reasons including CEO sponsored violations of state no smoking laws, unethical business practices, and breach of contract.

Anyone who wasn't afraid of the truth wouldn't hide behind the curtains as seen in this invetigative TV report

Looks like someone is "hiding" from TV cameras and the truth.
