New versions
b2evo's development (started around 2002/03) seemed to have stalled in 2005. However the new versions that came out in 2006 (version 1.6 to 1.9) lead me to believe that the dev team is getting hyperactive again. I am anticipating version 2.0 very much. From the dev version I see in CVS it could well be the definitive blogging solution with almost anything you need out of the box, multiple blogs, advanced user permissions, and a plugin framework for anything fancy that wouls sill be missing.

versatile
I have sometimes struggled to find the info but this tool/the community has always provided an effective solution to implementing the weirdest blog designs that have crossed my mind :)

Does the job admirably
I need blog software that can manage multiple blogs, users and permission levels. b2evolution has this built right in. It can also display each blog with a different template. It all but eliminates comment spam. The admin interface is beautiful and very easy to use. The word is getting out about this software and the list of plugins and skins for it is getting longer every week. This isn't a feature that I use, but it supports several languages.

Suits serious bloggers
b2evo is a multiuser, multilingual blog and the only blog around that offers these features out of the box. There is a bit of a learning curve setting it up and it takes some time to really explore its functionality, however this is time well spent. Its stable, secure and the code is good quality. The antispam functions are outstanding. Accessibility is only limited by the skin so if you need s.508 compliance, this provides it. Recommended where accessibility, multilingual and multiuser functions are important to a business.
