From what i've seen this is an advance software that offers for free rich features. Citadel can be used to send emails, for public or private chatting. Among the features supported, useful ones are: address books, mailing lists, electronic mail and many more. It has it's own data store so I wasn't required to install any database. What i find really amazing about Citadel is that it offers such a great service for free!
