CoffeCup is an effective HTML editor but the WYSIWYG editor can be confusing to beginners even if they can start with the tutorial available. What I liked about it was the drag and drop of everything, including Java Scripts! I give it another plus for the tabbed editing that helps me to work on several pages at once.
