Generally a good software, some problems with documentation and support
DZOIC Handshakes Professional development is inspired by Friendster, MySpace and tribe.net web services. One big advantage of DZOIC is that it includes access to 99% of the source code. That gives you the ability to completely customize any part you want or need. Another important advantage is that it has a modular structure that allows you to install different plug-ins, like Blogs, Classifieds, Events, Calendar, Clubs, eCards, Flash Chat, Flash Instant Messenger. Also, users can import their contacts imported from Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail or AOL. A strange thing are the two types of license: standard and branding free. They don't allow standard license owners to remove copyright notices ("powered by DZOIC" notice at the bottom of script pages). The support team is ok, but it is answering user's questions in a day or more. Also some more written documentation would be welcomed.

Ok for the price

The software is just ok. Most of the features are a re-branding of the blog feature. For example clubs are just a blog with acl's and a format template. If you follow any of the applications within a group such as forum, classified adds, you lose navigation of the group. Classifieds are again a blog.

In regards to performance, most users disable the hanshake feature (friensters). Therefore performance and scalability is a 5 out 10.

Functionality is more like 4 out of 10.

The 399 price is a bit hight compared with some of the free software available.

Its not a bad product. However, if you are planning to compete against the big boys you will end up buying something else.
