While I searching for interesting security tools on the internet in order to improve my system security, I came across this interesting piece of work. It is called Eraser and it is a security tool designed to remove the sensitive data from the hard drive completely, by overwriting it more than one time with different patterns. I like the fact that it has been tested on all versions of Windows (except Vista, but that’s ok with me), the fact that it is free (who doesn’t?) and that if I ever feel inspired I can work on the source code as it is released under the GNU GPL. It has a clean and tidy user interface, really easy to use and install . Good for the professional, excellent for the rookie.
