As a web dev, having a good FTP client is pretty essential. I have tried a couple of different clients throughout the time, but they all had something I wasn't really fond of. All that until I decided to try FileZilla out. At the beginning it's a bit awkward to work with, because it doesn't have the windows browsing API built in, but rather one of it's own, but once you get the hang of it, you will find it as a really fine program.

FileZilla was the very first FTP client I got my hands on. As a complete novice to ftp clients at the time, I had absolutely no problems using it. Since it is easy to use, secure and free, I never really considered changing it. I did try using the Total Comander FTP function though. That just confirmed that FileZilla is the way to go. Can anybody humour me with a little trivia question, please? Is FileZilla named after Godzilla of Mozilla? While we're on the subject, how 'bout Mozilla?

Fast, easy to use, and ready to move your files around even though you know very little about FTP. FileZilla worked very smoothly on Vista, never lets me down. No wonder is so popular

FileZilla is a powerful FTP-client for Windows NT4, 2000 and XP. It has been designed for ease of use and with support for as many features as possible, while still being fast and reliable. It supports SSL secured connections and SFTP, making it a good competitor against commercial products.
