FireFly BBS
FireFly BBS was quite easy to install and run. I didn’t need to have great experience with any other forum. Since my domain had a “cPanel” behind it, the linking with the MySql database was fast and swift. After that, I discovered that FireFly BBS has the possibility to protect the forum from spammers, and access to easily mod’s for the display or layout. Of course, some CSS knowledge is needed, but I didn’t get put down by it. The administration center is easy to use, and you can find all the information you like about a user, ranging from accessible ban management “ban by email address, username, or single or multiple IP address or hostnames“, the possibility to track the IP addresses of posters, or to mass mail the users, whenever something should come up. All in all, it is quite easy to use, but it’s recommended to always check for updates – you never know if a security flaw is discovered or not.
