Great browser, but...
Firefox is a great browser. There's no denying that. It can be credited for offering the first credible alternative to IE6. It's secure, standards compliant, and fast enough. It also offers a consistent browsing experience across three major platforms, which is a big deal. It has its problems: it eats up a lot of memory, and it could be faster, especially on the Mac. I think most of this is due to the fact that it's based on an old, crufty codebase, and they're still working on cleaning it up. Nevertheless, I find Firefox to be a great platform for web development. I've used the WebDeveloper toolbar, and more recently Firebug (two firefox plugins), and they're amazing at letting you understand what's going on inside the browser.
