GCompris is an educational software suite comprising of numerous activities for children aged 2 to 10. Some of the activities are game orientated, but nonetheless still educational. Below you can find a list of categories with some of the activities available in that category.

Currently GCompris offers in excess of 100 activities and more are being developed. GCompris is free software, that means that you can adapt it to your own needs, improve it and, most importantly, share it with children everywhere.

Product history
The first release went out in year 2000. From the start, Bruno Coudoin, the creator of GCompris decided to release it under the GPL license and to follow and open development model. Since then, GCompris got numerous and outstanding contributions in art, music, content and educational directions.
GCompris is translated in more than 60 languages and used all over the world, either at home or at schools. It's deployed massively by the school system in different part of the world, like Spain Extremadura, Andalusia and Canary Islands.
