Mini but powerful
Surprisingly enough this very tiny tool is without doubt a very effective search appliance packed with quite a bunch of interesting features. This small, but beautiful rack mount server was specially designed for small and medium size businesses that need to add a search facility to their website. What I like about it was the fact that getting it to work wasn’t difficult at all. Once plugged in Google Mini let me do a lot of things, like fast access to information anywhere on intranet, I was able to change the order of the search results and I could even build as many index collections as I wanted. For those with programming skills, I noticed that Google Mini allows the upload of an XSLT style sheet. Of course the appliance isn’t perfect, first of all it doesn’t come cheap and doesn't protect against upgrades, for the newest functionalities of the latest version, I’d have to buy the whole package again. But overall I can definitely say Google Mini is a pretty good product.
