Description

Ikonboard is a forum application developed in Perl programming language that uses a MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL or even a flat file databases. It has extensive skins features and complete multi-lingual support.

System requirements

• PHP 4.3.3 or higher
• MySQL 4.0.16 or higher

General Forum Features

• The registered users can choose a language in which the forum to be displayed
• The user can set the board skin
• The forum has multiple skins and templates
• Reading/ writing and replying to posts can be limited for every forum
• The SSI enabled board templates are providing a complete integration with other scripts on the website
• The forum has a built in news manager
• The topics can be tracked via email
• FAQ available
• In order to protect the user from 'spam bots' the email address is hidden

• Encryption of passwords
• The forum can be used without cookies

• The users can choose the language in which the forum to be displayed

• In order to increase connection speed, avatars, signatures and board images can be locked

Administrative Forum Features

• From the admin CP cascading style sheet attributes,graphics properties, templates and skins HTML can be edited
• Also from the admin CP templates, language packs and skins can be created, exported and imported
• The admin can assign moderators to forums
• The admin can allow members to moderate certain topics
• The admin can delete, open and close topics
• Forum announcements can be created by the admin
• In order to increase attention the admin can "Pin" the topics
• Members can be assigned to any group any time
• Permissions can be restricted for an whole group at a certain time

• Access to the Administration Control Panel can be allowed
• The categories can be created by the admin in an unlimited number/ re-ordered/edited and deleted
