The JSF Security Project is designed starting from the simple premise that simple security is effective security. This is reflected in most of the project, and to back up my statement, I can say that the JSFs pluggable and customizable mechanisms provide an easy, simple to use tool. The initial problem that the extension has solved is the extension of the JSF Expression Language, EL, syntax, in order to provide a new scope – security scope – which will provide access to security related properties. To summarize my impressions of the EL, I have to say that the JSF developer will be able to secure his application without having to write pages and pages of code.
