The legacy of MS-DOS
Who hasn't seen Command Prompt in windows? I mean, one of the most used consoles for Windows. But MS-Dos was much more then that. It was the operating system of the time. Various applications were developed for it along time, and some are still being developed today, in certain graphical versions for Windows. I for one, used MS-Dos because my first computer didn't have a Hard Drive to store an operating system. So every time the computer booted, MS-Dos was loaded by a diskette in the RAM of the computer. After that, any application that you would use was loaded from a different diskette. The operating system of it's era, especially for PC machines. The legacy remains, as long as you still run Command Prompt in order to test your network, or run applications with special parameters.
