Movable Type Review
I think Movable Type is one of the greatest commercial blogging applications. The only problem I had with it is the installation part, because it requires some technical skills about FTP and CGI. Also some previous experience with Perl and Linux definitely helps. The user interface is almost the same as in TypePad with minus a few admin options. Anyway, Movable Type brought me all the functionalities I needed from the usual ones: comments, calendar, trackback, search to more specialized ones like notification service, the import and export of dates, community blogs. Anyway there are lots of plugins available for increasing functionality. One feature I really liked is the possibility of archiving posts monthly, weekly, daily and also by category. From all the blogging application I’ve used and seen before Movable Type is definitely the most flexible and usable. It's worth the price.
