Description
Use this to stay in touch with your friends on MySpace. It’s cool, fun, with many features. You can make new friends here. Search them on the internet with their engine by name, username and find all “Marrys” on MySPace. See who is available tonight. Only MySpace users are allowed.
Features
First you get greeted by TOM with a welcome message note and if you fell lonely, well at first his your only friend. Every time you sign in a special window will open with adds most of them of MySpace. Also you it tells you the date, how many friends you got, you can edit your profile, view friends, add/edit photos, add/change videos and go to your Blog.
Set up some quick preferences: upload a profile picture, or just a new picture to have it on your portfolio. You can set up zoom on your photo if you want to emphasize something or just let it as it is. Set the message display and if you want to put on your profile the tag “Send me an IM”.
You can set up to be viewed only by your friends, or you can set up that everyone can see your profile. Select a skin, font color, highlight colors, choose a standard image for the message background or change it for every buddy. You can also auto-accept backgrounds images. You can set up your own sound or mute them all and you can save your message history.
Change your status in whatever you want: available, away or hidden yourself; write a special quote for someone. They have a little search engine so you can find your friends easily. Sure you have tons of buddies so they thought you can just search them. Use their already made groups or make your own. As expected you have a special Offline group were you can see your buddies that haven’t already signed in. Also you can set up to view their contact picture size large or small.
Talk to one of your friends: on the IM window you can set to block that user, press their name and see their profile, send file, set backgrounds, change your font color, size.
On your MySpace account you can have your own blog, albums photos, manage calendars, add friends, write comments on photos, go to inbox, sent messages, see your bulletin space and much more.
Go to chat rooms and choose them by category: foo &drink, movies, love &relationships, sports, video games, Music, by location: United Stes, Europe, Asia, Oceania by age: here you will find just the “teen” category, ask yourself why.
Search movies and see their plot, cast and crew, photos and buy tickets. Also you can listen to some music. History MySpace IM is a new release from 31 May 2007, beta stadium.
Easter Eggs
When talking to a buddy you can Zap him! That means you can special hug them, torche, smooch, hi-five and many more. Also you can make you own zap. Add a picture, a sound, messages for sent and received and zap someone.
Competitors
Yahoo Chat is a big MySpace competitor. You can use it for its chat rooms, web conferencing, video chat, phone conferencing and it’s all free.
Skype is a instant messaging software, but its main feature is the aurio conferencing, and video conferencing too.
AOL Instant Messenger supports not only AOL users, but Yahoo too, MSN and others.
