As an ardent open source supporter I really want to believe that there's no other place than the free software community where every dog has pretzel on its tail. But Impress is just not as good as PowerPoint is. It's not! You get to a point where everything gets out of control, there's no way you can make it work, and you have to start it from scratch. The text doesn't resize, the boxes don't move, and nothing is selectable anymore. I go back to good old Office and hope for the best

I've been using Impress for a few months. I was delighted to find a free alternative to powerpoint, but it's not perfect yet. It opens and saves ppt files ok, but some of the edits done in ppt are hard to re-edit in Impress. There are also some usability issues and some bugs. Overall, it does the job, but it could be better!
