Quick Time’s certainly more than your average player, it has a lot of features that initially seem like a good idea but eventual they turn out to be not so useful. First, the main screen is entertaining at first with all those ‘hot’ topics but I grew tired of it very soon. Secondly, the menu, it’s large and hard to follow, it doesn’t offer any special playback options and it take to much time to plain read. The best features of this software are that it can play a large range or file types and it doesn’t user much resources. In live playing it does a good job on automatically finding the connection speed and chooses the highest quality stream for the amount of bandwidth available. Overall it makes a good alternative for Windows Media Player at playing video formats.
