Description

Quicksilver Forums is a free discussion board designed to be fast, easy to use and with key features such as powerful admin controls, translated in 18 languages, complete skinning, 3D permissions system, highly customizable.

System requirements

• PHP 4.3.0 or PHP 5
• MySQL 3.23v/ 4.0v/ 5.0v
• At least 8 MB in storage spaces

Features

General Forum Features

• Before a registration is completed a validation by email is required
• In order to stop registering through automated scripts an Anti-robot registration is available
• The users are forced to agree to a Terms of Service contract before the registration is completed
• Online users are displayed
• Attachments can be added to posts
• The javascript tools are easy to use in order to aid formatting posts
• Search after post and title
• In order to discourage spammers all links use rel=“no follow”
• Members birthdays are shown
• RSS feed
• Preferred language can be detected
• Polls

User Forum Features

• MSN/ ICQ/ Yahoo/ AIM and Gtalk are instantly listed
• The email address can be hidden
• There is a 18 different languages forum access available
• An avatar can be customized including using a Macromedia Flash file
• The users can subscribe for receiving emails about updates in forums or topics
• Private Messaging
• Lost passwords recovering – a new password is generated and sent through email

Security features

• The access on a group, forum or user level can be controlled
• Moderators can edit or delete posts
• Members and IP addresses can be banned
• Word censoring
• Topics can be moved to other forums
• Topics can be split into multiple new topics
• Topics can be locked
• A topics can be pinned so it remains listed before recent topics

Administration Forum Features

• The admin controls who can start new topics, new polls, reply to topics, edit posts, delete posts
