Just a myth
Is this a "small world"? Of course it's not. With such a small set of data (about 7 million users), no wonder the results seem accurate and the average (for me at least) is 6.31. However, my maximum degree of separation is 12. Therefore, the theory is false. I'm curios how the results would look for a set of let's say 6,200 million people :-) This Facebook application has cool graphs (click "Show network" to see them) and offers a fun way to view the people in you network. But unfortunately, that's about all you can do with it.
