Tcreplay will give you the ability to use the traffic captured in libpcap format, and test various network devises. It ill provide the ability to classify traffic as client or server, change the Laywe 2, 3 and 4 headers and the replay the traffic back on the network. Tcpreplay supports single and dual NIC modes, both for sniffing and inline devices testing. I used it to sort the traffic between client and server, and have that stored in a file. That was useful, because I was testing a firewall, and by using the tcprewrite to edit the packets, I could make sure that the firewall examined them properly. Interesting tool for checking the security of a network.
