The hard part about GNU Privacy Guard is the installation, you'll need to read and understand the documentation to make it function properly (and unless it does, you've installed it for nothing). On the other hand, most Linux Distros provide GNU Privacy Guard as a binary package so at least they try to make it easier. As for the functionality it's great since I am now sure that I'll be the only one reading my messages or opening my files.
