Its interface could use a couple of improvements, and it takes some time to learn its features. On the other hand, it offers a great alternative to Windows Explorer, because of some of its great features, such as: side-by-side windows display, windows tabbing, file compare, the built-in FTP client, and much more.

I have to use a windows environment at work, and enjoy using total commander as a replacement to the usual explorer window. Key automation is great, but it looks a little dull. More explorer integration would be good.

Total commander is the best file manager program I've ever used on Windows platform. Has a very good FTP uploader and many other functionalities such as: folder comparison, markers, search engine, network file manager, sharing and permissions, encoding and decoding based on MIME, UUE, XXE, etc. In comparison with the basic Explorer it is very stable, friendly and has a very low cpu usage.
