After two and a half years when eBay bought Skype they are not trying anymore to merge their capabilities and to create something else. eBay lets Skype to be “itself” for now because as they say, in 2-3 years something will pup-up “groundbreaking” The acquisition was for 2.6 billion dollars and they say at 276 million regular users the software is profitable.
