XMMS-MSA
I used XMMS-MSA under Debian Linux, but unfortunately it was a short lived experience. What it provided was not so much of anything useful, since it is a spectrum analyzer. It doesn’t (yet) have support for stereo music, so that’s a big downside in my opinion. Other than that, it doesn’t really add to the general good of the world, except that it may at some points lighten your day while listening to music, by looking at the pretty moving lines of the music spectrum.
