Not a modern encryption/decryption method
Remember back when you were a kid, and you wanted to write cryptographic messages to your best buddy from next-door? The method was simple, assigning each letter from the alphabet a different one, using a standard pattern, which the receipt knew also. Well, that what Crank does, meaning that will take a text and attempt to automatically decipher it, using that old method. I only used it because of the nostalgia, and honestly, I don’t see any other reason why you would like to use such an old method to cipher text. Other then that, the tool is good at what it does, and even the novice user will understand how to play with it.
