Fakechroot – command lines
Fakechroot is useful if you try to run a command in an environment where is additional possibility to use chroot(8) command without root privileges. This means, that if you want to allow users to create there own chrooted environment, you also give them the possibility to install other packages without the need for root privileges. Also, you can install Debian bootstrap under fakechroot, with the ‘debootstrap --variant=fakechroot' command. An interesting tool, useful if you’re trying to work around the library functions – chroot(2), open(2) and so on.
