The best open source e-commerce software
osCommerce is the most used open source shopping cart worldwide. It has a strong core that includes all the important features and it’s easy to extend it with more functionalities through add-ons. ocCommerce has a huge community of developers that creates constantly add-ons. It's very flexible and customizable and the default design can be changed using HTML templates. Discovering osCommerce, I found a system that had the features ready for most online stores that could be customized for each customer's requirements, and was being developed and improved by the core developers and community of osCommerce users. I have to say that I can't wait the release of Version 3 of osCommerce that aims to have more integrated features, templating and customization built into the core and a complete rewrite of the code.

Some programming and html experience is needed - 10.0
We have been using this cart for 3 years now after migrating from the ezicommerce cart. Although some programming and html experience is needed to get this cart working optimally, it is still a great solution 'out of the box'. A robust and helpful community is a great asset for this cart. There are many add-ons developed by users and the development team is continually improving the security and backend. We can thoroughly recommend this cart for advanced users or those keen to learn some simple PHP.
