Webfs is one of the most easy to use tools for the web server administrator. Easy to install, and will be started as a httpin a few seconds, without the need to edit a config file, for example, in advance. But, unfortunately, it is aimed to be simple, and it is mostly for static content. You can use it to serve the content of an ftp server via http, which is not a really big deal, but it can at least me done fast. The main objective is to serve just files and to do this in a good and fast way. This has been done, and don't expect much more features that it has right now. It seems that it is also aimed to be small and simple, feature that has been accomplished too.
