YACPI proved to be a lot of help when I wanted to monitor the various acpi information of my laptop, such as the battery status or the ac status. Also, the reason I sued it was because I wanted to see how it monitors more then one battery on my notebook, and also the cpu frequency or the temperature. Neat tool, and it surely beats the one included in the Debian package.
