I used Zmodem SSH for transferring files to a remote machine, under the cover of a secure shell. Starting from being an alternative to SCP, it allowed me to transfer the files without the need of numerous alternative sessions, with all the long re-authenticating steps. The files are transferred interactively, through a wrapper for ssh, which is also used to switch the ssh connection between the remote shell and file transfers. I have to admit it didn’t throw me off my chair, and the fact that sometimes I had to hit return 2 or 3 times after file transfer completion in order get back to the shell didn’t add too much to it’s fun side.
